In 1876 Winchester Introduced a new lever action rifle they called the “Centennial Rifle,” in commemoration of the United States 100th anniversary. This model was discontinued in 1898, after 63,871 guns had been produced. This replica was reproduced true to the original. This rifle was one of the first lever action firearms to chamber heavier, centerfire ammunition with enough power to hunt bears or bison. Its capability was also appealing to notorious outlaws such as Johnny Ringo and Tom Horn. Features chamber options in some of the original cartridges. The 1876 model features a hand rubbed oil finish straight stock deluxe walnut buttstock & forend, case hardened forged steel frame, octagonal barrel, and blued steel parts. This reproduction is is built of stronger materials utilizing precision machining.
